With our current 2020 situation, we’re all looking for a slice of normalcy, and wanting to get our kids back to some extra curricular activities! We have been somewhat hesitant to sign our kids up for activities as we don’t know who is going to be taking the proper precautions to keep our kids safe. Pre Covid, Dance Pointe was amazing, and during Covid, they have gone above and beyond to keep their dancers safe and dancing. Check out this amazing, amazing company.

Dancing at a distance

“The Dance Pointe has been cultivating artists since 2009 and offers quality dance instruction for dancers of all ages and levels. With over 350 students from both Greenwich and Westchester, our program runs the full academic year from September-June, with our end of year performance at SUNY Purchase, NY. We offer many different styles of dance as well as various performance opportunities both locally and abroad, with a bi-annual European Tour for our intensive students. We strive to create a nurturing environment for both the recreational dancer as well as the aspiring artist.”

COVID19

This has been, to date, as for most small businesses, the most challenging of times. Having said that, the dancers and faculty, though masked, spark so much hope and joy. The passion for dance is contagious even now.

Due to the stringent protocols we have put in place, we have shrunk our student capacity by thirty percent! This is devastating. However, keeping our dancers and the community safe is paramount. I know that we will get to the other side of this, but for now we will accept our current "normal", we will teach, clean, teach again and be inspired by all of our dancers! To witness the dedication is another aspect that keeps me going. We have students that are not able to come into the studio but they will never miss class...we have equipped every studio with a monitor and they simply stream them from home!

It has been a series of pivots, adjustments, decisions and risk assessments...but in the end, it is all about the dancers!
