We’ve all attempted the baking thing before right? It ain’t easy, so to see these edible pieces of art is beyond impressive to me. I for one, always think that I can make any cake that my kid asks for. No sweat, right?…. they don’t turn out tooooo TERRIBLE, and my kids are always happy, but, let’s be real… they can’t even to compare to the cakes you’re about to see.
Owner, Allyson Buck is a stay-at-home mom of three who has turned her hobby into a small business. She has always loved to bake, and she discovered her talent for cake decorating trying to fulfill her children's requests for theme birthday cakes. Like I said, I try to do the same, but I don’t seem to get quite the same results that Allyson does! Mine are more of the Pinterest “Nailed it” type cakes, which actually means a big giant FAIL.
Allyson makes all cakes, frostings and fillings from scratch and uses fondant and gum paste to mold handmade decorations, creating one-of-a-kind cakes for you! The results are OUT OF THIS WORLD. And they don’t just look amazing, they TASTE amazing.
A note from Allyson: “Hi Momality family! My name is Allyson and I am the full time mother of 3, ages 14, 12 & nearly 10, and part time self taught baker and cake decorator. In my former life I was a Management Consultant, then our kids came along and I was no longer able to travel so stopped working. Then when my daughter was 4, she decided she needed cupcakes with fairies on them for her birthday. I had always been good at 3D art and baking so I thought I would try my hand at fondant, turns out I was pretty good at it. After that, friends started asking for cakes and cupcakes for their kids' parties and the Greenwich Cakery was born. I feel so fortunate to have a passion outside of my kids that gives me the flexibility to still be a full time mom. Each cake is unique and made by me by hand, the crazier the design ideas the better. I absolutely love the process of decorating (I find it very therapeutic!) and sharing my creations with my clients.”
